Connie Denaburg
Connie,
the former director of Space Coast Juniors, operated the club for 2 years in
Brevard County. SCJVC had teams finish among the top five in the state of
Florida during their second year. Connie has been coaching high school varsity
volleyball at Merritt Island High School for seven years, having teams finish
twice in the top eight in the state in class 5A. Prior to starting her coaching
career, she participated in beach volleyball for eight years and USAV indoor
volleyball for ten years. Connie graduated from Carson-Newman College in
Tennessee with a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Recreation while playing four
years of volleyball and tennis for the Lady Eagles. She later earned an MBA from
Nova University and spent ten years working as an accountant at Kennedy Space
Center. Connie resides in Merritt Island with her husband Dan and their four
children Karly, Mason, Lexy and Brady.

Barrett, Patrick:
Patrick Barrett has been coaching volleyball locally since 1991. He has taken
teams to the high school state tournament while coaching at Melbourne Central
Catholic. Patrick also has seven years coaching experience at the collegiate
level where his players have earned All Conference honors. He has been coaching
club volleyball since 1992 with Harbor City Juniors, Brevard Elite, and Cape
Coast. He assisted with the Cape Coast 18's team at USAV Nationals in 2000.
Patrick is a USAV Cap Level II certified and is a member of the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Bolton, Daren: Daren has played
volleyball for over 17 years. Some of his experience comes from playing
indoors, yet the majority of his time has been spent outdoors, playing 2-man
beach volleyball. He plays weekly and has entered into many tournaments
throughout
Florida
. He coaches JV Volleyball and is Assistant Coach for Varsity at
Rockledge
High School
. This will be his 3rd year coaching at
Cape
Coast
. This summer, Daren had the opportunity to serve as the Director
for CCVC’s first ever Beach Volleyball league.
The season was a great success, with 22 girls and 2 boys participating in
practices and tournaments. He's also a certified First Aid and CPR
instructor.
Bolton,
Sherri:
This
will be Sherri’s third year as an Assistant Coach at
Cape
Coast
. She serves as an assistant to the Coach of the team, her husband Daren.
Her past volleyball experience has mostly been from watching and supporting her
daughter as she plays for the Varsity team at Edgewood Jr. /Sr. High, where she
is a Team Mom. Between
Cape
Coast
,
Cape

Beach
and High school volleyball, she stay’s active in the sport and continues to
learn.
Bragg,
Daniella:
Daniella
Bragg was a 4 year Varsity starter for Melbourne Central Catholic. My junior
year, 1999, the team was the state-runner up. Graduated with the class of 2000.
Did Harbour City Juniors Volleyball Club from 1992 - 1999 to where I then went
to
Cape
Coast
for my last club year, 2000. I was on the team to be the first ones to go to
Nationals. I then went to Indian River CC and played 2 years (200 - 2002). Was
mainly RH, also setter and OH. Achieving MVP my sophomore year. Then transferred
to
University
of
Alabama
in
Huntsville
and finished up my last 2 years there. While up there I broke the record of
having the most aces in a season. I am now currently the Varsity head coach for
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. Our team went to the state sweet 16 and lost to
the defending state champions. I also help with the Satellite Recreation
Department volleyball clinics. I am also now at UCF finishing my degrees.
Majoring in Sociology and Accounting.
Callenberger, Peggy:
I
started my volleyball career playing in San Diego, both high school and
Juniors, moved on to play at Northern Arizona University. I began coaching
in
Michigan
at Our Lady Star of the Sea- 3rd-8th grades. I was Head Coach at
Regina
High School
in
Detroit
Michigan
and also coached Grosse Pointe AAU 13 and 14 under. Upon moving to
Florida
, I was head Coach at New Smyrna Beach HS for two years and also coached 14u
with Florida Elite for a season. Overall I have 10 years of playing
experience and 8 years of coaching.
Foster, Lindsay: Played
at Cape Coast 2003 - 2004. Earned a scholarship and is currently playing at
Florida Tech. Working towards a BA in Forensic Psychology, career goal is to
teach and coach.
Gomez Linda: Linda
began her career a St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale where she
was the Woman's JV Coach, Assistant Varsity Coach and the Men's Varsity Coach.
After several district and regional titles and a trip to state playoffs, Linda
went on to become a college coach at several colleges including
Brevard
Community College
in
Melbourne
. Linda has a BS degree from
Florida
State
University
in Physical Education and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Physical
Education and Elementary Education. She has taught in both public and private
schools. Linda is currently teaching
at Holy Trinity in Melbourne, and the Head Women's Volleyball
Coach for
Satellite
High School
.. Linda has completed CAP I, Cap II and CAP III
certification with USA
Volleyball. She has just completed the IMPACT Instructor's Certification and
will be teaching the IMPACT coaches clinic for the Florida Region. Linda
has participated as a court coach at the High Performance tryouts in
Orlando
, attended the High Performance Coaches Clinic in
Colorado
. She has completed the Coaches Clinic for Gold Medal Square
and have run many volleyball camps.
Guinn
Jim:
Jim
is beginning his third year with Cape Coast Volleyball Club, the first two as a
strength and conditioning coach and assistant coach for 14 travel.
Last fall he coached the
Space
Coast
High School
junior varsity team. Prior to
joining CCVC Jim was a strength and conditioning coach for several Div-I
collegiate athletic departments as well as for the Washington Nationals rookie
team in Viera. Jim is certified by
the National Strength and Conditioning Association and received his Impact
training in October 2006.
Hansen, Robert: Rob
Hansen is in his 10th year as a coach in club volleyball. Rob has 8 years of
Head Coaching experience with Cape Coast Volleyball and Space Coast Volleyball
as well as 2 years as an assistant coach with Cape Coast Volleyball Club and
Space Coast Juniors. Rob as been the head coach of
Merritt Island
’s Junior Varsity Volleyball team for three years (16-3 record in 2006) and
varsity assistant coach (2 time defending Cape Coast Conference champions). In
2003 and 2004, Rob led his 16-2 team to multiple tournament wins, including
winning the AAU Regional Silver division. Rob’s CCVC travel teams have
finished with better than a 60% match winning percentage. Rob received his
Volleyball IMPACT training prior to the 1998 season, in 1999 received his
Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) level I certification, and completed his
CAP level 2 training in 2005. While not on the volleyball court, Rob is kept
busy by is lovely wife Karen and his volleyball playing daughters Lauren (a 2004
graduate from the
University
of
Florida
) and Ali (a sophomore defense specialist at
Marshall
University
, C-USA 2005 champion, CCVC coach). During the days you can find Rob at Lockheed
Martin in
Orlando
.
Heddlesten, Steve: Steve
has been involved with volleyball in Brevard
County, either playing or coaching, for many years. He is in his
tenth season
coaching club volleyball for Space
Coast
/ Cape Coast Volleyball Club. During his years with the Cape Coast Volleyball
Club, Steve has concentrated primarily on coaching the 14’s, 15’s and/or
16’s National Teams. In the year 2006, his 14 National Team went to the
Big South National Qualifier in
Atlanta
, and placed ninth in the Club Division. Steve was an Assistant
Coach for the Rockledge Raiders Girls Varsity Volleyball Team for the 2002 and
2003 seasons; and he is currently in his fourth season as an assistant coach with
the Florida Tech Panthers women’s volleyball team. His responsibilities
are on court coaching, scouting, and recruiting. Steve is currently CAP
Level II certified and a member of the AVCA.
Holtkamp,
Hans:
Hans Holtkamp, USAV Power 16-1 Coach - Hans played indoor USAV volleyball from
1987-1990 and then moved his game to the beach for eight years playing beach
doubles tournaments around the state of Florida. He began his coaching career as
an assistant varsity coach at Titusville
, then moved to
Astronaut
High School
for 3 years as a varsity assistant coach and JV volleyball coach. Hans makes
his home in Titusville
and this is his sixth year as a club volleyball coach, the past 3 years with
CCVC. He is CAP I certified through USAV
Klein Donna: Donna
has spent many years watching her daughters play volleyball and fell in love
with the sport. She decided to further her knowledge by taking the Coaches
Impact Training Program and is now in her first season as an Assistant Coach.
Klonowski,
Pete: Pete was a member of the
University
of
Evansville Volleyball Club
from 1983 - 1987 where they won the USAV Great Lakes Regional Championship. He
has won 12 open beach volleyball tournaments. Pete also coached at
Merritt Island
High School
from 1997 - 1998 and again from 2000 - 2003. He was assistant head coach when
the Lady Mustangs were the 2001 Class 4A State Finalists. Pete holds a BS in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Evansville. He and his wife Lisa have three children, Hannah age
8, Jack age 6 and Ava 1½ years old.
Konopnicki, Megan: Megan,
who comes from
Texas
, is in her first year of coaching at
Cape
Coast
. Her 14 years of playing experience includes 7 years at the club level. She
recently completed her fourth year of scholarship volleyball at Florida Tech –
the last two as captain. She also captained her high school team to two Texas
state playoff berths and went to club Nationals twice with the North Dallas
Juniors Volleyball Club (16’s and 18’s). Her coaching experience includes
numerous camps in
Texas
and
Florida
, and taking a
Plano
city summer league 12’s team to the city championship.
Nelson
Audrey: I started playing volleyball locally at Johnson Jr.
High. Moved to
Colorado Springs
, and played at
Rampart
High School
. I played club volleyball for Colorado Springs 17 Gold and 18 Gold.
My 17's year, we won in
Arizona
,
Minneapolis
,
Indianapolis
, and
Denver
(Crossroads 18-club division). We also took 3rd at Nationals. We
also won several tournaments my 18's year. I then played 2 years at
Murray
State
University
(Div I) and 2 years at the Univeristy of Colorado-Colorado Springs (Div II).
I received All-Conference honors 3 out of my four years in college and won MVP
at CU both years I played there. I coached at
Florida
Air
Academy
in the fall of 2007.
Nolan, Valerie:
This
is my second year as a
Cape
Coast
coach. I also coach at
Space
Coast
High School
. My volleyball career began early. I started learning the game when
I was seven and playing competitively by age nine. I played high school
ball in North Ft. Myers, Florida. I also played four years of club
volleyball for Palm Coast Juniors. I enjoy playing in recreational indoor
and sometimes beach volleyball leagues.
Patrick,
Angie: Angie
Patrick grew up in Wisconsin
where her family still lives. Her high school team won a state championship her
senior year. She attended college at Florida Tech, receiving a BS in Science
Education/Biology. Angie was a 4- year starter for the Florida Tech Panthers and
in 1996 was named Female Scholar-Athlete of the year. Her senior year she named
to the Sunshine State All-Conference team. She has coached for the Harbor City
Juniors (4 years), Daytona Beach Juniors (3 years),
Embry-Riddle
University
assistant coach (2 years), and is has been the head coach at
Merritt Island
High School
for 5 years. Merritt Island volleyball had a three-peat season this year
winning district and conference undefeated for three years in a row. Angie was
names the
Cape
Coast
and
All-Space
Coast
coach of the year for 2005 & 2006. Angie and her husband Ron have a 4 year
old daughter Jordyn, 1 year old son Shane, and two dogs Swish and Hunter. She
enjoys playing volleyball and tennis.
Romanos,
Abe:
Abe
played mostly indoor club volleyball, overseas from 1966-1978 and the
USA
from 1978-1987 in the Heart of America USVBA Region on the Wichita Volleyball
Club. The club competed &
practiced year around and adopted the 6-2 formation where Abe played outside
hitter and a setter. Abe also
competed in sand volleyball where he made it twice to the semi-final.
In 1985 the Wichita Volleyball Club moved up to “AA”, where Abe kept
his position as on outside hitter and a setter.
In 1987 and after a knee injury Abe coached the women’s “A” and
men’s “AA” club team for two years. Abe
kept up the game by teaching his daughters Christina and Karine the basics of
the volleyball game.
Rosa Candi:

the Year, All Cape Coast Conference Team. Went on to play collegiate
volleyball for 4 years, 2 years at

. Team captain senior year at both colleges. Played several years of
Beach volleyball; went on to be the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at

for 2 years. Have been coaching for CCVC for 4 years. Physical

for 7 years. Coached the girls basketball team and track team there for 5
years; live in Titusville with husband, Jose and 2 children, Derek age 15 and
Kiersten age 10, who has played CCVC volleyball for 4 years where her team (10 T
Gold) won the Regional Championship and placed 3rd at the National Tournament!
Smith, Becky: Becky
Smith graduated from
Florida
State
University
with a BS in Math Education. She has been teaching for St. Mary's
Catholic
School
in Rockledge for 13 years. She was formerly the Asst. Coach for St. Mary's
girls A team volleyball, but has been the Head Coach for the past 3 years. She
has been at Cape
Coast for 2 years and loves the organization.
Sykes Sarah: Sarah
Sykes grew up in Brevard County and went to Satellite High School where she
played volleyball and tennis. She was the 2-time Cape Coast Volleyball Player of
the Year and 4-time Tennis Player of the Year. Sarah then received a full
volleyball scholarship to the University of Kentucky. At UK Sarah holds the
record for most kills in a single match, is among the top three in Kentucky
history in Kills, Attempts, Digs and Aces. Sarah decided to stay in Kentucky and
receive her Masters in Education while coaching the Lexington Select 17's
National Team. Sarah moved back to the county in May and was the Head Varsity
Coach at Viera High School this past year. Sarah is married to Joshua Sykes,
teacher and basketball coach at Palm Bay High School, they live in Satellite
Beach with their dog Sammy.

Started playing volleyball in 1971 when it was not a popular sport, played
indoors and beach till I went into the Air Force. The type of job I had offered
me the opportunity to travel all over the world. I was able to play with and
learn from some of the best players and coaches in the world, I’ve lived here
in
Florida
for the past 17yrs playing indoors and beach.

Wood, Cordelia (Coco):
Coco
is in her fifth year with the club.
Her former
Cape
Coast
players continue to achieve success in their school programs and many continue
to play with the club and progress to the next level.
In addition to coaching, she served as League Director for the club’s
2006 and 2007 fall leagues. She has
many years of experience as a coach and as a player of the game.
Since moving to
Florida
she has assisted at Florida Tech and
Brevard
Community College
as well as coaching with the club. A
member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, she started her coaching
career in
Virginia
, where she coached first at the high school level and then at the collegiate
level. Conference Coach of the Year
her third season as a collegiate head coach, she had several players receive
All-Conference and All-Tournament honors under her tutelage.
A member of the All-Region Selection Committee for her NCAA division’s
South Region for three years she also coached the East Team at the Virginia
State Games two years.
She founded and
directed two separate youth volleyball clubs, directed numerous camps and
clinics for youth and adults, and was recognized by The Women’s Sports
Foundation for Outstanding Achievements in Women’s Sports in 1993. She
has attended several coaching clinics and is IMPACT, CAP Level I & II
certified. She is a former Director of the Tidewater Volleyball
Association and has been a Tournament Director for indoor and outdoor events.
As a player, she participated in outdoor (beach and grass) volleyball and
indoor USAV tournament play throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s with great
success and was invited to tryout for the World University Games in 1983.
Worcester, Jeff:

's Varsity team. Last year, I coached a 15 League team that medaled in three of
our four tournaments. I played volleyball in high school in

when it was still rare; our teams were club teams and, though very competitive,
had no state-sponsored playoffs to which we could aspire. I teach English
at Edgewood HS."
