Connie Denaburg
Connie
has been the director of Cape Coast Volleyball Club for 14 years. She began her
coaching career at Merritt Island High School in 1995 as the varsity coach and
led them to a 5 straight Cape Coast Conference Titles in the late 1990's and
early 2000's. They were District Champs her last 5 years through 2001. She led
them to a state finalist appearance in 2001 and finished top 8 in the state for
another 3 years. Connie has been coaching club volleyball for approximately 10
years along with her director duties. She has coached 18's, 16's, 13's and now
concentrates her efforts on getting the younger ages involved in local leagues,
camps and clinics year round. She is currently a 10 & under coach for Cape
Coast Volleyball Club. Prior to starting her coaching career, she participated
in beach volleyball for eight years and USAV indoor volleyball for ten years.
Connie graduated from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee with a B.S. in
Accounting and a B.S. in Recreation while playing four years of volleyball and
tennis for the Lady Eagles. She later earned an MBA from Nova University and
spent ten years working as an accountant at Kennedy Space Center. Connie resides
in Merritt Island with her husband Dan and their four children Karly, Mason,
Lexy and Brady.

Barrett, Patrick:
Patrick Barrett has been coaching volleyball locally since 1991. He has taken
teams to the high school state tournament while coaching at Melbourne Central
Catholic. Patrick also has seven years coaching experience at the collegiate
level where his players have earned All Conference honors. He has been coaching
club volleyball since 1992 with Harbor City Juniors, Brevard Elite, and Cape
Coast. He assisted with the Cape Coast 18's team at USAV Nationals in 2000.
Patrick is a USAV Cap Level II certified and is a member of the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Pat is currently the head coach at Holy
Trinity Episcopal High School.
Bauer,
Samantha: Samantha
Bauer- played volleyball for 6 years at Cocoa Beach JR/SR High School.
She coached the Freshman volleyball team at
Cocoa
Beach
High School. The team finished with a new school record, both for the
best record and the most wins in a row. Age 21 Elementary Education major
at the

, graduating May 2009.

Brooke: Brooke
Billman currently 17 years old, has been playing volleyball since the eighth
grade. She is currently a junior at
Satellite
High School
and this is her first season coaching. She has played indoor Cape Coast
Volleyball for three years and

Beach
volleyball for one, this upcoming summer will be her second. She played for her
high school for two years and this year returned to her original sport of
competitive swimming. She has a younger sister who has been playing volleyball
for two and half years and aspires to play at the College level someday. Brooke
has participated in many volleyball camps, including “Gold Medal Squared”
and “Mel’s Volleyball 101”. Brooke loves coaching and says the game of
volleyball has a whole new meaning to her now. She’s excited about this
upcoming season and her number one goal as a coach is to share her love for the
wonderful game of volleyball with her girls. She plans to attend a
Florida
college and play intramural volleyball there. She is currently undecided on the
degree she will pursue.
Bolton, Daren:
Daren has
played volleyball for over 18 years. Some of his experience comes from
playing indoors, yet the majority of his time has been spent outdoors, playing
2-man beach volleyball. He plays
beach volleyball weekly and has entered into many tournaments throughout
Florida
. He coaches JV Volleyball at
Rockledge
High School
and is Assistant Coach for the Varsity team. This will be his 4th year
coaching at
Cape
Coast
, heeding great results, with several tournament wins with all his teams.
This past summer, Daren had the opportunity to return as the Director for
CCVCʼs Beach Volleyball league.
This was the second season for Beach and participation more than
quadrupled, from the first season, with over 80 participants.
The season was a great success, with teams coming from other clubs, such
as OVA, Ignite and Inland to participate in our tournaments.
He received his Impact training in 2007.

Sherri:

will be Sherri’s third year as an Assistant Coach at

. She serves as an assistant to the Coach of the team, her husband Daren.
Her past volleyball experience has mostly been from watching and supporting her
daughter as she plays for the Varsity team at Edgewood Jr. /Sr. High, where she
is a Team Mom. Between

and High school volleyball, she stay’s active in the sport and continues to
learn.
Callenberger, Peggy:

started my volleyball career playing in

Jackie: Jackie started playing
volleyball at the summer clinics that Connie Denaburg ran at the

season of Cape Coast Volleyball Club at age 12. Throughout her years of

and of course Connie Denaburg. Jackie played JV, and Varsity at

watching her kids develop skills is most rewarding. Reminding her of her
accomplishments that CCVB helped her achieve as a player, she is excited to be
back now as a coach.

am a senior at

and I've played volleyball for four years. I began volleyball as a freshman at
Rockledge High where I played on the freshman team. I was transferred to
Viera

where I've played on the varsity level for the past three years. I was captain
for two of those three years. I played

volleyball for two years. After high school I plan to go to college to become a
math teacher.
Friedman
Alyssa: Alyssa
Friedman is 18 years old and has been playing volleyball since the fifth grade.
She played at Divine Mercy through eighth grade and four years at Merritt Island
High, two years being a varsity letterman. She has also been been
playing

Coast
since her eighth grade year. She has volunteered coaching many times,
including previously for
Cape
Coast
, and hopes to major in education in her upcoming college years so she can
not only teach, but become a head coach at whatever school she may teach.
Foster, Lindsay:
Born
and raised in
Brevard

, Lindsay has six years of volleyball playing experience. She played NCAA
Division II Volleyball at Florida Institute of Technology for four years where
she earned a B.A. in Forensic Psychology. She is in her third year of
coaching club at
Cape
Coast
and also played for the club from 2002-2004. Lindsay has coached several
summer volleyball camps over the last five years, including the UCF Girls Camp
Summer 2008. She is currently the assistant varsity coach at
Titusville
High School
and a substitute teacher for Brevard County Schools, working towards a
full-time position as a teacher. Lindsay makes her home in the city of
Cocoa
with her fiancé Chaz Tipton.
Gomez,
Linda: Linda
began her coaching career in
South Florida
over 20 years ago. After earning several district and regional titles,
and a trip to the state volleyball series, she and her family moved to
Indialantic and have lived there for over 6 years. After three successful
seasons at
Brevard
Community College
in
Melbourne
, she accepted the head volleyball coaching position at
Satellite
High School
, helping them earn their first Class 5A District title in thirteen years. She
has been at SHS for three years. Linda
earned a BS degree in Physical Education from
Florida

and teaches at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. She will complete her MS degree
in Educational Leadership this summer. Linda has earned her CAP I, CAP II,
and CAP III coaching certification for
USA
volleyball. She is also a certified IMPACT Instructor teaching entry level
volleyball coaches for the USAV Florida Region. Linda has attended many
coaching clinics, including the USA High Performance Coaching Clinic in
Colorado
, and the Gold Medal Squared Coaching Clinic. She has run many camps and
clinics, and is currently training coaches through "Get Set", a
coaches mentoring program she has designed for local
Brevard
County
coaches. Linda and her husband John have three children, Katie, Johnny and
Sveta.
Goossens,
Rachel: Born in
Palm Beach

, Rachel started her volleyball career playing for The King’s Academy. She played club for Palm Beach Juniors
and
Volei-Tech

. At The King’s Academy she served as captain her junior and
senior years, leading her
team to a state championship in 2006. Some awards include
Palm Beach
1st team All-area, 1st team all county, 3rd team All
American, and MVP of her state championship team. Rachel is now pursuing a
Sports Management degree from UCF and enjoys sharing her passion for volleyball
with others. This will be her first year as a head coach.

Jim:
Jim
is beginning his fourth year as a coach for Cape Coast Volleyball Club. He
has experience as a beach player and also coaches for
Space
Coast
High School
. His 2008 freshman team finished with 13 wins and 2 losses. Jim has
been a strength and conditioning coach for
Cape
Coast
, for the
Washington
Nationals rookie team, and for several Div I collegiate athletic departments.
He received his Impact training in 2007.
Haight
Jen:
This is
Jennifer Haight's first year as head coach at
Cape
Coast
. Jennifer grew up in a small town in the state of
Minnesota
. She got married and moved to
Florida
in 1997 and has resided in the
Brevard
County
area ever since. She has three children, 2 boys and one girl. Jennifer
played volleyball along with gymnastics, softball and basketball all through her
school years. She was also involved in a volleyball club that traveled all over
Minnesota
for 3 years. She still enjoys playing any chance she gets for league and
co-ed, for any sport.
Hansen, Robert: Rob
Hansen is in his 12th year as a coach in club volleyball. Rob has 10 years of
Head Coaching experience with Cape Coast Volleyball and Space Coast Volleyball
as well as 5 years as an assistant coach with Cape Coast Volleyball Club and
Space Coast Juniors. Rob as been the head coach of
Merritt Island
’s Junior Varsity Volleyball team for five years (13-0 record in 2008) and
varsity assistant coach (4 time defending Cape Coast Conference champions). In
2008, Rob’s 16-Regional team
finished ranked 15th in the Florida USAV Region.
Their best finishes were finished T-3rd in the Florida Region
AAU tournament and T-5th in the Florida Region USAV Club division and
33rd (out of 164 teams) in the Big South USAV Qualifier. Rob’s
CCVC travel and regional teams have finished with better than a 70% match
winning percentage. Rob received his Volleyball IMPACT training prior to the
1998 season, in 1999 received his Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) level I
certification, and completed his CAP level 2 training in 2005.
Heddlesten, Steve:
Steve
has been involved with volleyball in
Brevard
County
, either playing or coaching, for many years. He is in his eleventh season
coaching club volleyball for
Space
Coast
/ Cape Coast Volleyball Club. During his years with the Cape Coast Volleyball
Club, Steve has concentrated primarily on coaching the 14’s, 15’s and/or
16’s National Teams.
In the year 2006, his 14 National Team went to the Big South National
Qualifier in
Atlanta
, and placed ninth in the Club Division. In 2002 and 2003, Steve was an
assistant coach for the Rockledge Raiders Varsity volleyball team; from 2004
through 2007, he was an assistant coach at
Florida
Tech
University
; he is currently the head coach of the Junior Varsity and associate head coach
of the Varsity program at Holy
Trinity Episcopal High School. Steve is USAV CAP Level II certified and a
member of the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Hillard
Kaysha: Kaysha Hilliard graduated from Webber International
University this past year. During her two years she helped pitch for there softball
team. Before transferring to WIU she also attended Brevard Comminuity
College for two years, during her time at BCC she played both volleyball and
softball as well. Currently, outside of Cape Coast Volleyball she is the
assistant softball coach at Palm Bay High School.
Holtkamp,
Hans:
Hans Holtkamp, USAV Power 16-1 Coach - Hans played indoor USAV volleyball from
1987-1990 and then moved his game to the beach for eight years playing beach
doubles tournaments around the state of Florida. He began his coaching career as
an assistant varsity coach at Titusville
, then moved to
Astronaut
High School
for 3 years as a varsity assistant coach and JV volleyball coach. Hans makes
his home in Titusville
and this is his sixth year as a club volleyball coach, the past 3 years with
CCVC. He is CAP I certified through USAV
Klonowski,
Pete:
Pete
was a member of the
University
of
Evansville Volleyball Club
from 1983-1987. He competed in Open level indoor and beach tournaments
for over ten years. Pete coached at
Merritt Island
High School
from 1997-1998 and again from 2000-2002. He was assistant head coach when
the Lady Mustangs were the 2001 Class 4A State Finalist. Pete is in
his sixth year coaching for Cape Coast Volleyball Club. He was worked
primarily as the head coach of either the 18 National or 15 National teams.
He and his wife Lisa have three children, Hannah age 9 ½, Jack age 7 and Ava
2 ½
years old.
Konopnicki, Megan: Megan,
who comes from
Texas
, is in her third year of coaching at
Cape
Coast
. Her 14 years of playing experience
includes 7 years at the club level. She
completed her fourth year of scholarship volleyball at Florida Tech – the last
two as captain. She also captained
her high school team to two Texas state playoff berths and went to Nationals
twice with the North Dallas Juniors Volleyball Club (16’s and 18’s). Her
coaching experience includes numerous camps in
Texas
and
Florida
, and taking a
Plano
city summer league 12’s team to the city championship.
She is the varsity volleyball coach and teaches middle school science at
Space Coast Jr/Sr High School.

Landow,
Kristi: Kristi was born in
New Jersey
, but grew up in Titusville Fl. She played four years of Varsity Softball and
two years of Varsity Volleyball in High School.
She received many awards throughout her high school
career including MVP and Scholar Athlete
2 years in a row. After graduation Kristi accepted a scholarship to play
softball for BCC. Following graduation from BCC she went to UCF to study Psychology.
She has now been coaching club volleyball since 2007. Kristi currently resides
in
Melbourne
where she works full time and coaches High School
softball for MCC.
Murray,
Eric: Eric
is beginning his second year as a coach for Cape Coast Volleyball Club.
He is also coaching at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School in
Indialantic. He has been playing
Volleyball for over 28 years. He
grew up in
Puerto Rico
where he played JV and Varsity in High School winning several high school
tournaments and becoming one of the top high school teams in
PR . Eric is also helping Cape Coast Volleyball Club athletes in the
area of sports conditioning. He is
an experienced certified personal trainer with over 12 years of experience
helping athletes and non-athletes of all ages and fitness levels to reach their
goals safely and effectively.
Muzzi,
Tavia: Tavia Muzzi has been coaching volleyball
for seven years and played volleyball since Jr. High School. In college
Tavia played on the first Baylor Women’s Club Volleyball team which began her

. Tavia coached volleyball for two years while in college at Reicher
Catholic High School along with basketball, one year at Carter Junior High along
with basketball & track, two years at Tupelo High School along with track,
Mississippi State Volleyball Camps for one summer, and is currently coaching
volleyball (two years) and softball (first year) at Cocoa High School where she
teaches AP Human Geography and World History. This year will be Tavia’s
second year to coach with Cape Coast Volleyball.
Nie,
Mekenzie:
Mekenzie
was born and raised in Melbourne Fl. She played four years of Varsity Volleyball
in High School. She also played club volleyball for CCVC for four years. After
graduation Mekenzie went to BCC and was coaching the J.V. volleyball team for
her local high school. She has now been coaching club volleyball since 2005.
Mekenzie has coached the 14’s, 16’s, and 17’s age levels.
After coaching the 14’s age level, 5 out of 8 girls made the Junior
Varsity team at their High School and 1 out of 8 made Varsity at their High
School as freshman. Mekenzie currently resides in
Melbourne
where she works full time and is attending college to receive a B.A. in
Organizational Management.

Patrick grew up in
Wisconsin
where her family still lives. Her high school team won a state championship her
senior year. She attended college at Florida Tech, receiving a BS in Science
Education/Biology. Angie was a 4- year starter for the Florida Tech Panthers and
in 1996 was named Female Scholar-Athlete of the year. Her senior year she named
to the Sunshine State All-Conference team. She has coached for the Harbor City

will be Mrs. Sirounis’ first season coaching club volleyball. She coached

has been involved with Cape Coast Volleyball Club for seven years. The last five
years she was instrumental in developing the CCVC website and supporting all the
tournament travel for the club. She received her Impact Certification for
coaching in March 2007. She will be assisting with the 14 National Team this
year, as she begins her coaching career with Cape Coast Volleyball Club J.

is currently a student at BCC and will have her AA in December of this year.
After attaining her AA she wants to transfer to UCF or FSU to pursue a 4 year

Sykes, Sarah: Sarah
Sykes grew up in

where she played volleyball and tennis. She was the 2-time Cape Coast
Volleyball Player of the Year and 4-time Tennis Player of the Year. Sarah then
received a full volleyball scholarship to the
University
of
Kentucky
. At UK Sarah holds the record for most kills in a single match, is among the
top three in
Kentucky
history in Kills, Attempts, Digs and Aces. Sarah decided to stay in
Kentucky
and receive her Masters in Education while coaching the Lexington Select 17's
National Team. Sarah has been the Head Varsity Coach at
Viera

for past 3 years. Sarah is married to Joshua Sykes, teacher and basketball

Kim: Kim
was born and raised in

, graduating from MIHS in 1983, she graduated from

with a degree in psychology. She has assisted on various

teams from 2000-present. Kim also assisted her husband Herb coach
volleyball at
Rockledge

from 2000-0004 and is currently volunteering for the Brevard Community College
Lady Titan Volleyball Team. She is a volunteer for the American Red
Cross and certified instructor in emergency response, first aid and
cpr and lifeguarding. Kim is USAV CAP I certified.
Weekley,
Ty: This
is my first season being a head coach. I
was an assistant coach on a 10’s team this past short season.
My interest in volleyball started 6 years ago when my oldest daughter
started playing at the high school and club level. She is the reason that my
youngest daughter has such a passion for this sport.
Since her sister has gone off to college, I’m hoping to help keep that
passion alive by coaching in the 10’s league.
I look forward to developing these young girl’s skills.
Wood, Cordelia (Coco):

is in her sixth year with the club.

players continue to achieve success in their school programs and many continue
to play with the club and progress to the next level.
In addition to coaching, she continues to run clinics, camps and leagues
for the club and as Boys Coordinator is currently working to get boys added to
the club. She has many years of
experience as a coach and as a player of the game.
Since moving to
Florida
she has assisted at Florida Tech and
Brevard
Community College
as well as coaching with the club. A
member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, she started her coaching
career in
Virginia
, where she coached first at the high school level and then at the collegiate
level. Conference Coach of the Year
her third season as a collegiate head coach, she had several players receive
All-Conference and All-Tournament honors under her tutelage.
A member of the All-Region Selection Committee for her NCAA division’s
South Region for three years she also coached the East Team at the Virginia
State Games two years.
She founded and directed two separate youth volleyball
clubs, directed numerous camps and clinics for youth and adults, and was
recognized by The Women’s Sports Foundation for Outstanding Achievements in
Women’s Sports in 1993. She has attended several coaching clinics and is
IMPACT, CAP Level I & II certified. She is a former Director of the
Tidewater Volleyball Association and has been a Tournament Director for indoor
and outdoor events. As a player, she participated in outdoor (beach and
grass) volleyball and indoor USAV tournament play throughout the 1980’s and
1990’s with great success and was invited to tryout for the World University
Games in 1983.
Worcester, Jeff:
Jeff is in
his third year with

and his seventh year coaching volleyball. He spent two years as an assistant
varsity and JV coach at
Hawthorne
High School
outside of
Gainesville
, two years as a varsity coach at
Hawthorne
High School
, one year as JV coach at Edgewood, and two years as head coach of
Edgewood
's Varsity team. He played volleyball in high school in
Orlando
when it was still rare; the high school teams were considered club teams and,
though very competitive, had no state-sponsored playoffs. He teaches
English at Edgewood HS.
