Chloe Arellano

Coach

Chloe Arellano started playing volleyball when she was eight years old up until her senior year in high school. Chloe moved from Colorado to Brevard County in 2016. She played for Viera High School’s varsity volleyball team for three years as a setter and was a part of the 2020 graduating class. Chloe also played for Cape Coast for four years and is now in her second year of coaching. This past year she was an assistant for Mini Club for 10U and was an assistant coach for Eric Murray (one of her high school volleyball coaches) for 76 Pegasus. 

Chloe is attending college at Eastern Florida and will be finishing her degree this spring.

Daren is dedicated to the Cape Coast Volleyball Club, where he has been coaching since 2005 and received his Impact training in 2007. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2007 and expended the club by taking it to the sand with 2-person Juniors Beach Volleyball. He has been the Beach Director from the inception in the summer of 2006. Daren has coached volleyball at Rockledge High School where he coached JV for 3 years and varsity for 5 years, making it past Districts, and into Regionals. In 2010 his Rockledge Raiders were  Cape Coast Conference Champs.

Kiwanda Brown

Kiwanda is a Brevard County native, graduating from Eau Gallie High in 1998, finishing second in the district. She also played club volleyball with Harbor City Volleyball Club under Mitch Jacobs. Kiwanda attended the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA with a Full Scholarship. She returned back to Florida in 2015 and joined Cape Coast Volleyball in 2019. Kiwanda started off coaching Mini Club and went on to be an Assistant Coach for Cassini. Kiwanda looks forward to being a huge asset to Cape Coast Volleyball Club. 

 

Peggy Callenberger

Coach

Peggy is from San Diego California. She played volleyball at Northern Arizona from 1985-1988. She has coached at  Cape Coast for 14 years. Peggy also coached at Our lady Star of Sea and Regina HS in  Detroit, MI, 1997-2001. The coached at New Smyrna High School from 2002-03 where she also coached for Florida Elite in 2001-02. Peggy is currently the MIHS JV and Freshmam coach. She lives in Merritt Island with her husband Mark. They have 5 chlidren, Gwen, Scott, Daniel, Emily and Katie.

Jill Clark

Jill Clark was born and raised in Brevard County, graduating from Astronaut High School in 1999.  While attending Astronaut High School, Jill played volleyball, basketball and golf.  She earned a scholarship to Florida Tech (FIT) in Melbourne after playing club volleyball her senior year for Mitch Jacobs at Harbor City as a middle hitter.  Jill joined the Cape Coast family in 2021 during Mini Club season.  She will assist Diego coaching the 14U Challenger team.  Jill lives in Melbourne with her husband Fred and dog Taco.

Connie  has been the director of Cape Coast Volleyball Club for 26 years. Connie began her coaching career at Merritt Island High School in 1995 as the varsity coach and led them to 5 straight Cape Coast Conference titles in the late 1990's and early 2000's. The Merritt Island Lady Mustangs were District champs her last 5 years through 2001. She led them to a state finalist appearance in 2001 and finished in the top 8 in the state for another 3 years. Connie has been coaching club volleyball for approximately 26 years along with her director duties. She has coached 18's, 16's, 13's, and now concentrates her efforts on getting the younger ages (10-12U) involved in local leagues, camps and clinics year round. In 2010, her Cape Coast 12 NIKE team was ranked 2nd in the state and won the USAV Florida Region Bid tournament to qualify for the Junior National tournament held in Reno, NV where the team placed 19th overall in the nation. In 2010 Connie was recognized by the USAV Florida Region on behalf of Cape Coast Volleyball Club as "Club Director of the Year".

Connie graduated from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee with a B.S. in Accounting and Recreation while playing four years of collegiate volleyball and tennis for the Lady Eagles. She later earned an MBA from Nova University and spent ten years working as an accountant at Kennedy Space Center. Connie has received her IMPACT training and is CAP II certified with the USAV Florida Region. She and her husband Dan have 4 children, Karly, Mason, Lexy & Brady.

Coach Phil was born and raised in Connecticut and has been a loyal member of the Cape Coast family since 2009 when his daughter Maddie found her athletic calling. Phil has always been involved with many different competitive sports in high school, college and beyond. Finding a new love and passion for indoor volleyball, coaching high-level competitive volleyball has fueled that competitive fire. As all athletes continue to learn and hone their skills, he also believes as a coach he can never stop learning and introducing new techniques and philosophies. Coach Phil obtained his PCA and IMPACT volleyball certifications in 2011. He has coached at the ELITE and Select levels from ages 11 through 15. 

Nicole Hunt

Nicole was a military brat who graduated from Palm Bay High in 1993. She was Cape Coast Volleyball Player of the Year after leading her team to District and Regional Titles her senior year. She played club for Space Coast Juniors and Nicole then received volleyball scholarships to play at Eastern Florida and Florida Tech as a setter and outside hitter.  Nicole began refereeing volleyball during college, as well as, coaching for Harbor City Juniors.  After moving to Tennessee for 10 years and coaching Club volleyball up there for Maury County Volleyball Academy, she moving back home to Florida in 2014.  In 2015, Nicole took over the Head Varsity coaching position at Bayside High School and is currently the winningest coach in school history.  Nicole was Co-Director and coach of Bayside Juniors Volleyball Club for the past 5 years helping grow the competitiveness of the sport in the south end of Brevard County. Nicole and her husband, Brian have been together since 2000 and they have two daughters, Molly and Macy.

Mitch Jacobs back to Brevard County. Mitch Jacobs retired this season from Marshall University after 17 years as the Head Coach, leaving  the school as the all-time leader in coaching victories. Coach Jacobs was the director of River Cities Thunder Volleyball Club, the most successful Juniors program in the region and in the state of West Virginia, culminating with the 2018 River Cities 18's team capturing the USA 18 - American National Championship. River Cities Volleyball has placed over 40 players through its 17 years at Universities from NCAA Division 1 to NAIA powerhourses and everywhere in between. 

Coach Jacobs has 26 years experience as a collegiate Head Coach. Prior to Marshall, he  led Fairfield University to 3 straight MAAC Championships, 3 straight NCAA tournament appearances and holds the school's highest career winning percentage (.757). Before Fairfield, Coach Jacobs was the Head Coach at Florida Tech (6 Seasons), where he also holds the all-time wins mark in that programs' history. 

Coach Jacobs has always taken great pride in working within the youth volleyball community at each of his stops. He has worked within the USA Volleyball young programs over his 28 years of collegiate coaching. In the Huntington area, Coach Jacobs and the River Cities program have been the force behind a major increase in USA Volleyball participation over the past 17 years. Junior club volleyball in the Huntington/Charleston area has increased from 35 members in 2002 to over 300 members and 7 clubs between Ashland, KY and Charleston, WV.

Jayden played one year of volleyball at Concord University a DII school in Athens, WV. Then went on to play the next three years at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She played club volleyball for River Cities Volleyball Club and once back and playing at Marshall University became an assistant coach and head coach for River Cities Volleyball Club. 

Dave Jelinek

David has been involved in sports his whole life  and has played almost all of them when his daughter, Shelby took up the sport in 7th grade in 2007 and he followed along closely.  Through intense training, Shelby quickly improved and made the varsity team at Merritt Island Christian in 8th grade. The team finished 3rd in the state and she went on to play varsity all 4 years at Viera High and was selected 1st team all Cape Coast Conference for her jr. and sr. year as libero. She played for Cape Coast Volleyball Club and went to Daytona State College for 2 years. David fell in love with the game during this time and decided to share the  excitement of volleyball to others by coaching. Davide starting coaching at Cape Coast with Daren Bolton and the 18 ELITE team and the 14 Select team at Cape Coast. Davide is currently the JV Coach and Asst. Varsity Coach at Satellite High School. 

Shelby Jelinek

Shelby was raised in Brevard County and is in her fourth season coaching at Cape Coast Volleyball Club. She previously played for Cape Coast Elite teams as well as varsity lettered five years with one year at Merritt Island Christian School in 8th grade and the other four at Viera High School. She holds the current dig record and joined the 1,000 "point/dig" club at Viera High School. She was selected 1st team all Cape Coast Conference for her junior and senior year seasons as a libero. She also participated in Cape Coast Beach Volleyball in high school and with her partners, finished 6th and 13th at the Junior Olympics for AAU Beach Volleyball in 2011 & 2012. Shelby then received a full volleyball scholarship at  Daytona State College for 2 years where she was selected team captain and libero. Daytona State's volleyball team was a first year program in 2013 and gained national recognition for being ranked 6th in the nation during their first season. Shelby graduated with her AAU at Daytona State in 2015 and went on the graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management at Florida Atlantic University in 2017. She has been assisting her dad, Coach Dave on the 16 Delta team for four seasons now. 

Tiff Jenson

This is Tiff's second year of coaching at Cape Coast, although volleyball has been in her life for a long time. She is currently the head coach of the middle school team at Pineapple Cove Classical Academy-West Melbourne.  Previously, she has also assistant coached JV at Viera High School. At Brighton High School, she played setter/outside hitter, lettered in volleyball, and made the Utah All-State Volleyball Team. After playing 4 years of high school and club volleyball at Utah Juniors and High Country Volleyball Club in Salt Lake City as an outside hitter, she played college volleyball at Snow College. Later, during graduate study in Texas, Tiff was a conditioning coach for Conference USA Athletic Camps as well as a 14U-18U volleyball coach & volleyball camp director for several years in Dallas. Tiff also obtained her IMPACT volleyball certification.  Tiff has two master's degrees (social work and liberal arts) and a Ph.D. in Sociology. Overall, she describes herself as "playful yet competitive" and when not coaching volleyball, Tiff is a professor of criminology for the University of Florida.  Tiff resides with her husband Jeff and daughter Stormy.

Drew, a native of Rockledge, is beginning his 2nd year affiliated with Cape Coast Volleyball Club. Drew is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who became interested in coaching when his youngest daughter, Elizabeth, started playing at age 9. He was an assistant for the 10 NIKE team and now coaches as needed. He obtained his IMPACT certification in 2011 and joined the Cape Coast Board of Directors in 2010. Drew and his wife Jill both grew up in Rockledge and enjoy exercise of all types as well as competing in Masters and open water swimming events. Their oldest daughter is a college student.

Pete was a member of the University of Evansville Volleyball Club from 1983-1987. He competed in the OPEN level indoor and beach tournaments for over 10 years. Pete coached at Merritt Island High School from 1997-1998 and again from 2000-2002. He was an assistant head coach when the Lady Mustangs were the 2001 Class 4A State Finalist. He was the training coordinator and assistant coach at Brevard Community College (now Eastern Florida State College) from 2011-2012. He is currently the head coach at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. Pete is in his 18th year coaching for Cape Coast Volleyball Club. He worked primarily as the head coach of either the  15's or 18's teams. He has 3 children, Hannah, Jack and Ava. 

Eric  Murray

Eric is in his 12th year as coach for Cape Coast Volleyball Club.  He has coached several age group levels during all these years with the club including 12, 13, 14, 16 & 17. During the 2008 and 2009 seasons he was the head coach at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School in Indialantic. During the 2009 season he led the team to an undefeated season, becoming the 2009 champions. Eric coached the Cape Coast 12 NIKE team in 2010 which won the USAV FL Region Bid tournament and earned a berth in the Jr. National Volleyball tournament in Reno, NV in the summer of 2010. The team finished 19th in the nation.  Eric has also been coaching at Viera High School since 2011 where he has helped develop a very strong and successful HS volleyball program in Brevard County. He has been involved with the sport of volleyball for over 40 years.  He grew up in Puerto Rico where he played Varsity in High School winning several high school tournaments and becoming one of the top high school teams in PR. Eric is also helping Cape Coast Volleyball Club athletes in the area of sports conditioning. He is an experienced certified personal trainer with over 20 years of experience helping athletes and non-athletes of all ages and fitness levels to reach their goals safely and effective.

Marisol Murray

Marisol Murray started off playing volleyball when she was about 10 years old and immediately fell in love with the sport. When she was 12 years old her team qualified for the Junior National Championship in Reno, Nevada and ended up placing 19th in the nation. It was the most incredible experience. She then went on to play all four years on varsity at Viera High School. Where they won the schools first district championship in the sport of volleyball in 2011. She then continued to play on the Women’s Club Volleyball team at Florida Atlantic University. 

Angie Patrick

Angie earned B.S. degree at Florida Tech where she played OH and RS for the Panthers.  After graduating she took a position as the asst coach for Embry Riddle University (2001-2002) This past fall she completed her 18th season as the head coach of Merritt Island HS volleyball and director of Island Volleyball Clinics. Career highlights include the 2011 Florida State Championship Class 5A, State runner up in 2012 and 2014,  2018 State Championship Class 6A, 2019 Beach VB State Championship, Cape Coast Conference Championships 2005, ‘06, ‘07, ‘08, ’11, ’12, ’13, ’14, ’15, ’16, ’17, ’18, ’19  20 and district championships for the last 18 years straight 2005-2020.  She’s been with Cape Coast volleyball for 16 years and has coached 10-14s and 18s. In 2018 her Cape Coast 14 Elite team qualified for nationals. She and her husband Ron, have a 17 year old daughter Jordyn on Cape Coast 18 Atlas team and volleyball at MIHS  and 14 year old son Shane who plays baseball and basketball at MIHS.

Olivia Pavick

Olivia started playing volleyball when she was 14 years old and instantly knew this was the sport for her.  She played all four years while attending Astronaut High School, earning the MVP Award her freshman year and the War Eagle Award her junior year. Olivia continued her passion for volleyball by playing for Cape Coast on the 16 and 17 Elite teams.  Olivia has earned her AA degree, and is currently working on her B.A.S. in Travel and Tourism Management through Eastern Florida State College.  She began her volleyball coaching career in 2018 by being the head coach of a 16U club team.  Over the next two years, she was the head coach of a 12U and a 15U club team.  Olivia joined the Cape Coast family in 2021 when she became one of the coaches for the 11/12U Summer League teams.  She also became the head coach of 14 Atlantis for AAU Nationals.  Olivia is one of the head coaches for the 11/12U teams for the 2021 Mini Club season.  Olivia hopes to instill the love of volleyball in each of her players, along with the life skills of hard work, determination, and teamwork.

Diego has been coaching for Cape Coast Volleyball Club for 9 years. He has coached anywhere from 13's to 18's for Cape Coast. He was the Head Volleyball Coach at Astronaut High School for 5 years. Diego was an assistant volleyball coach at Eastern Florida State College for the 2019 season. He has coached for the Team Florida HP program for 3 years where he won a gold medal in the Girls Select division in 2017 and placed in the top 10 with the Boys Regional Select team in 2019. Along with coaching indoor, he has been a part of the Cape Coast Beach program since 2010.

Kylie Taffer is a Brevard County native. She attended Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School while playing on the varsity team for 4 years. Her high school career consisted of a very successful Edgewood team and she made the First Team for the All-Space Coast volleyball team in 2013. Her college career was very similar. While playing at Salem College she received the following accolades: GSAC Freshman of the Year (2014), GSAC All Freshman team (2014), GSAC All Conference (2014 & '15), Team MVP (2014 & '15), and Athlete of the Year in 2018. She was also an exceptional student in the classroom being honored with the GSAC All Academic Team (2015, 2016, 2017).  She started coaching while still in college, first at Champion Volleyball Club in Winston Salem, NC for 3 years; 2016, 2017, and 2018. After graduating, she moved back to Brevard County and started coaching at Satellite High School as the freshmen coach in 2018 and at Cape Coast as the 14-2 coach. In  2019, she began coaching at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy as the JV coach which is where she is currently. She is now the 14 Atlantis coach at Cape Coast and helps out with other programs, like the STARS program. With 6 years of coaching experience, she is fully prepared to help players reach and strive towards their full potential. While not on the volleyball court (which is rare), she is a librarian at the Central Library in Cocoa. ore info coming soon

Lindsay Tipton

Lindsay Tipton was born in raised in Brevard County, graduating from Titusville High School in 2004.  She earned a scholarship to Florida Tech (FIT) in Melbourne after just playing volleyball for two seasons with Cape Coast.  Lindsay led her college  team in blocks both in her junior and senior years as a middle blocker/opposite  with accolades in other statistical categories.  She was a 4-year scholar athlete while earning a degree in Forensic Psychology.  Her coaching career began where she started playing with Cape Coast in Fall 2006.  She has coached club now for 16 years  in the 14U through 18U divisions. Lindsay teaches high school and AP courses and resides in North Brevard with her  3 kids, Charli, Hank, and Andee, and her husband Chaz.

Ivana Trencheva

Ivana is from Razlog, Bulgaria. She has been coaching for Coaching for 4 years,  internationally for 3 years. She has a  bachelors degree  from Marshall University. Ivana played volleyball2 years at the College of Southern Idaho while earning an associate degree in arts. This division 1 junior college in Twin Falls, Idaho,= finished as national runner-up in 2017, winning two conference championships and one regional title. Then she played 2 years at Marshall University earning Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll 2018-2020  and majoring in  international business She played in Razlog Bulgaria for 8 years for Junior Bulgarian National Team and Volleyball Club Pirin Razlog. Three times she was Best Spiker nationally in Bulgaria. Captain of the team  for 8 years. She won two regional titles with the high school team, and won five regional titles with  club team. She was selected to the museum for sports achievement in high school. Captain of the first volleyball high school team in school history for 4 years. Ivana returned and coached every summer in 2017,2018,2019 for 3 months at her home club team “Pirin Razlog” Head Coached 18', 16s and 15's teams. She finished 4th in the national tournament with 15's age group in Bulgaria. She coached for 2 years in River Cities Thunder in Huntington, WV-16’s,15’s. This will be her second year coaching with Cape Coast. She is currently working as an accounting specialist at the Integration Factory.

Sarah Spinner-Wayne grew up in Brevard County and went to Satellite High School where she played volleyball and tennis. She was the 2-time Cape Coast Volleyball Player of the Year and 4-time Tennis Player of the Year. Sarah then received a full volleyball scholarship to the University of Kentucky. At UK Sarah holds the record for most kills in a single match, is among the top  in Kentucky history in kills, attempts, digs and aces. Sarah has been the head varsity coach at Viera High School and a Cape Coast ELITE coach for the past 15 years.  In 2012, Sarah made the FL Region Professional Volleyball Team, Florida WAVE as an outside hitter. She has 3 children Joshua, Anna and Harper.
