Mitch Jacobs  retired from Marshall University after 17 years as the Head Coach, leaving  the school as the all-time leader in coaching victories. Coach Jacobs was the director of River Cities Thunder Volleyball Club, the most successful Juniors program in the region and in the state of West Virginia. River Cities Volleyball has placed over 40 players through its 17 years at Universities from NCAA Division 1 to NAIA powerhouses and everywhere in between. 
Coach Jacobs has 26 years experience as a collegiate Head Coach. Prior to Marshall, he  led Fairfield University to 3 straight MAAC Championships, 3 straight NCAA tournament appearances and holds the school's highest career winning percentage (.757). Before Fairfield, Coach Jacobs was the Head Coach at Florida Tech (6 Seasons), where he also holds the all-time wins mark in that programs' history.
